fabric and food love

i had hopes of posting yesterday but it got pushed back to today.  bolts of my favorite fabric arrived on wednesday.  they are still sitting in the plastic wrap.  love.love.love.

the fruit fabric are for little girl dresses.  i promised some for a preschool auction.  i made this one last month with some needed help on the collar.

no slow food movement around here.  the only thing that's slow cooking in my kitchen, once in a while, is my crockpot.  i really do love to cook.  but, i also can admit that i'm in love with fast food!  last night we had chili dogs.  nope, i didn't make the chili.  i just fried the hot dogs and chopped the onions.  husband picked up the chili from the best-est place.

weirdness

laura tagged me with the weirdness meme yesterday.  i heart laura.  she was one of my first blogging friends.  so here goes...

i sucked my thumb until the seventh grade.  just found out last week that my high school friend did, too!  weirdos!

i’m a salty person and love shoyu/soy sauce.  i put shoyu on almost everything.  the weirdest things i like it with are avocados and poi.

i hate touching money.  love it, but i’m a germ freak.

i really like the smell of cuttlefish.  the fishy stink smell makes me smile. 

husband still has to come with me when i need to get blood drawn.  i always shed tears and sometimes scream.

i use lots of toilet paper. therefore, i like the secure feeling that buying big-bulk from costco gives me.

*here's a dish from dinner last night that has shoyu in it.  it's a favorite. 

cut soft/silky tofu into large cubes.  top tofu with chopped chinese parsley (cilantro), green onions and grated ginger.  bottled ginger is okay.  heat olive oil in a pan.  throw a little piece of green onion in oil to see if hot enough.  if it sizzles then cover your arm with a dish towel, stand back and pour hot oil all over tofu and garnish.  (i hate that part.)  drizzle the whole dish with shoyu.  (in my case, pour.)  the leftovers are super yummy cold, too!
