i'm smiling because i'm going to complain about a certain insurance salesmen named "willy". i think willy is why insurance salesmen sometimes have bad generalizations about themselves. a few weeks ago, my dad offered to cash in one of his insurance policies so i could pay off my student loan. the result of a second degree that has turned out to be useless and costly. it was my job to call the agent and ask for information on how to cash-out. i got hold of willy who wasn't the original agent my dad bought the policies from. i found out later that my father liked his old agent. i got a story from him of how "old-time" business was done differently. anyway, i explained to the overly gung-ho willy what we wanted to do. i immediately got bombarded with questions...what's the money for?...what does husband do?...how many children do we have?...what was my major in college?...what does my father do?...what this?...why that? he even asked what was my total (student loan) debt? the kicker was when he asked our total mortgage amount and monthly payments!!! let me say again that it was the first time i've ever spoke to this person. i didn't need financial advice. i didn't want to buy any type of insurance from him. he's not our banker, friend or family. so, why the heck should i tell him that stuff? all i wanted was information. of course, like an idiot i answered him up until the debt and mortgage questions. he questioned me for a frustrating half-hour. finally, he said the paperwork would be ready for me to pick-up the following week. papers that were for my father to sign. he also requested that i bring husband with me. according to willy, husband and i should personally pick-up the papers. he made no offer of sending the paperwork to me or directly to my father. instead, husband would have to take off work while we lugged babybug to downtown. it's irritating how our inconvenience was no concern of his? his goal was to have us face-to-face to do a sales speech. i have no problem with him trying gain a sales opportunity. but, don't you think that's so wrong and annoying how he asked me so many personal questions during a first conversation? it makes me just so mad thinking about it...and, my stupidity to answer his questions that are frankly none of his business. i still feel so invaded with his nerve to be so nosy. fyi willy, we already have insurance. but, if we needed some, we sure wouldn't buy it from you!
i'll change to something crafty now. i bought a rhinestone heat applicator yesterday. it's made for the swarovski glue-back rhinestones. it worked really well and was super easy. much easier than using small globs of fabric glue and is supposed to have a stronger adhesive. i put the rhinestones on a quick applique shirt i made for babybug. the tiny rhinestones look so much more sparkly in person. can't forget the fabric buttons for matching hair ties.
now, time for dinner. pot roast, again.
