a new friend

from kansas, ireland and australia

here are my goodies from...

laura in kansas.  i wanted these so badly.  thank goodness she's already an established blogging friend so i pushed shame aside and just begged.  she also sent chocolate sunflower seeds, sand toys, more fabric for my addiction and a cute tissue holder.  i don't know who ate the sunflower seeds (husband probably).  babybug has the tissue holder in her "play" purse (i think).  the sand toys are around the yard (i'm too lazy to pick them up).

karen in ireland.  first, i have to say, there were much more goodies.  all are eaten, the chocolate (husband again), happy hippos (babybug and i love them) and the others yummies we enjoyed but  i can't remember.  this is what happens when you are bad and don't post pictures when you should.   the most special are the bunny, bag and birdie.  the bird is my favorite.  she's been hanging on our drapery rod since i opened the parcel.  babybug is fascinated with bunny's bee bo (belly button).  she's always fidgeting with the button.

allison in australia.  my magazine swap package arrived yesterday.  i've become addicted to magazines from other countries.  the magazines are great.  my favorite is donna hay.  she looks like she's australia's martha.   look at the cute party favors for boys...little gingham goodie bags tied onto sticks!  and, the bug party theme!  those caterpillar meringues!!!

the ladybugs arrive

the ladybugs arrived yesterday after a long journey...

our swap package from ali in the uk.  babybug and i love everything!  let me describe the goodies...great ladybug fabric, such a thick weight and just adorable!  olive, a british food magazine with super pictures and recipes.  the famous and lovely dish cloths...need i say more?!  happy hippo biscuits that husband and babybug are dying to eat!  i needed to take a picture before they could eat it...the torture of swap goodies is waiting for pictures to be taken.  a little bug jar locket for babybug to wear around.  organic chamomile tea in a pretty box.  hand-carved rubber stamps and ladybug clothes-pin clips.  there were four but one went missing as soon as i tried to arrange the picture.  they were the first things babybug grabbed when we opened the box. 

thank you,ali!  the special package was so thoughtful and wonderful!  we are so lucky!  i think i'll make myself some tea while they eat the hippos :)

english swaps

a bit later than i expected, but here they are.  ali, kristy and karen were the first (and only for a while) ones who were interested in a swap.  so, i made three.  stake your claim ladies. 

   

thursday was wonderful since grandma gwen had babybug all day.  i tried to kiss and hug her goodbye twice and both times she pushed me away.  little traitor made me feel so unloved.  i did five loads of laundry and immediately put them in the dryer.  no stink laundry this time, ha!  i cleaned the sewing room, read some celebrity garbage magazines,  husband came home for lunch and went to the fabric store alone.  i thought about her every minute, it was sure great alone!

i hope this weekend i can finish some way over due baby gifts.  and, back-tack!  i have the materials and idea, just need to start.  also, i want to do some blog reading.  i haven't really checked out everyone's blogs for a while.  i feel like a bad blogging friend, not reading and commenting.  oh, i must send an email and check-up on dawn.  tomorrow we have a third birthday party to go to...swimming and i think they are having one of those big jumper thingies.   have a great weekend!

when i say a gift is just because, i mean just because! 

but of course, it's always nice to receive wonderful surprises.  saturday i received this from capello.  my mailman thought it was a package for more fabric.  in a way he was right!  i got one of her cute easter cards!  also, my favorite things...fabric, chocolate and hello kitty for babybug.  i love the circles...was going to buy it once but had to cut my order down.  thank you!

monday night i was in bed at 1:30 a.m.  i just closed my eyes and remembered i forgot to check the mail for the day.   I thought, heck i'll check it tomorrow.  then i had paranoid visions of the construction workers finding a pre-approved credit card application or something.  put on clothes and went outside.  i opened my box and found this...

see, i had a feeling something important was in there waiting for me...a package from angela.  i got a crayon roll!  babybug got a crayon roll with crayons and a hello kitty coloring book!  how did you gals know she (and i) like hk?  i got buttons, ribbon and a sweet sweet card!  see how the crayons and buttons are wrapped?  man, she practically has her own brand of packaged craft supplies.  thank you! 

to bed now...it's early in the morning here in honolulu.

crazy!

the package arrived yesterday!  rural mama is crazy!  she sent so many things!  she made my first swap such a wonderful experience.  babybug and georgie are the same age, 18 months.  i was telling husband that it was such a neat-o thing, these swaps.  i have different friends that fulfill aspects of my life.  but, not one knows how to sew or is into any types of crafts.  now, i have a new friend who seems to like many of the same things i do.  i tell you, this was better than christmas.  to have a box filled with all types of little things i enjoy.  ahem, and that babybug will enjoy too.  the sweetest two things were a picture frame with georgie's picture and a little bug box!  rural mama is the person you want as a future swap partner!  tomorrow i have to make a flickr account.  check out the loot...
