last night husband and i both put babybug to bed with no crying! we turned on the ac and cruised with her on bed and futon. we both ended up falling asleep and so did she. (we realized she did when we woke up at 1 a.m.) later she woke up at 4 a.m. this morning. i don't know what time we went back to sleep, let her cry a while. she woke up at 10 a.m. this morning so her schedule is all messed up again.
these are the bags i wish i could make. i especially like the cute first one. i wanted to post more pictures from the book but scanner is being difficult. i think i'll have to attempt the second bag because it looks a lot easier. the problem is i've never quited anything. i don't see the color combinations that go together. i've just stuck to making my simple, one material bags.
made this bag yesterday and took pictures. you can make it anysize, no pattern required. probably lots of people know this way, since it's a pretty basic pattern.
cut fabric any size you want bag to be. cut two handles, outer fabric and inner lining. cut a square a bottom corner of each, outer fabric and lining. it's best if dimensions are equal. iron pelon on wrong side of outer pieces and handles. fold handles in half and iron. sew both sides of handles. place right sides of outer and inner pieces together. sew sides and bottom. on lining, leave a 3 to 4 inch space to pull outer through.
fold corner of bottoms together and sew.
turn outer piece right-side out. sew straps in place.
place outer piece inside lining with two right sides facing each other. sew together.
pull outer piece through opening. sew opening closed and stuff lining back into bag.
sew top edge and iron.
i hope that made sense. now, time for babybug's nap.
Wow those are cute. Great fabric too. What did you use for lining?

I'm trying your bag ... but I'm stuck on pix #2. How did you fold the corners? It looks the like the side seam is at the top. I'm confused ... and maybe a little dumb.
thanks.

Okay ... I figured it out. (Actually, my friend did.) It was just me. Not your tutorial. It's starting to look better already! (I sewed the corner seams, too instead of leaving them open.)

Great website ! Do you share your patterns? I'm confused if your website is a business or are you sharing your work.
thanks, Kelly
